This card is a huge benefit to me. As a frequent traveler with my own business, the bonus points for signing on and the points awarded for both business purchases and SPG hotel stays are unparalleled. I highly recommend this card.

Excellent customer service. Given what other cards offer lately, this card doesn't seem to have the appeal it once did. Also, I noticed that there are foreign transaction fees with this card while other cards don't have any. I wish it can get 2 star points per dollar on regular purchases since it's a business card.

I like the card because of the starwood points but should be a combination with airline points

Make sure you get your points. After having the card for 3 months, I noticed I hadn't received my bonus points for meeting the spending requirement within the first 6 months. Customer service told me that the bonus was only for new AMEX Card holders, yet the Card member agreement makes no mention of this requirement. This document is directly on their website. They still have not provided any valid reason for not crediting the account. I would be very wary of getting this card.

I was told I was not eligible for the 15k bonus points earned by spending 5k during the first 6 months of the card because I had already had AMEX cards, and was not a new customer. The card agreement DOES NOT make any mention of this limitation, so I've been going back and forth with customer service to get it resolved.Excerpt From "CARD BENEFITS & TERMS"**15,000 Starpoints:To be eligible to receive 15,000 bonus Starpoints® you must make $5,000 in purchases on the Card between the date the Card is issued and the date ending 6 months thereafter. Points are acquired in a very slow amount. When spent, they are utilized at a more than going for 'retail' amount. Meaning, the amount cashed in for travel exceeds what would be spent utilizing another source of travel other than American Express. Dollar for Dollar, we spend more using points than paying outside of the benefit plan.

The Starwood Credit Card from Amex still gives me the best return for my spending! I've used my SPG points to stay in hotels all over the world. In fact, I don't actually recall ever paying for a stay at a starwood property. The SPG card's service is always top notch. I've benefited from services like Global Assist while overseas more than once. When my luggage was delayed, the Amex agent was able to track it down and call me back within 20 minutes after I contacted her.

do not use the hotel chain as much anymore so i have not has a need for the type of benefits offered

Best rewards for hotel stays and airline miles transfers. Annual fee increase this year is not competitive with other cards.

Starwood points are among the most valuable loyalty points in the business, and the Starwood Amex Business card combines that benefit with OPEN savings. At a very attractive annual fee, you get great Amex service,great loyalty points, and non-trivial discounts on many goods and services.It would be helpful to offer a few more promotions with starpoints for specific spending triggers.
